This is not a list of all my favorites nor will I attempt to explain them. Perhaps at a later date I may but for now I just wanted to share mostly random verses because the wisdom of proverbs is extensive. This list is from a notebook which I write in as I go through my daily proverbs readings.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge, fools despise wisdom and discipline
Proverbs 4:7 The Beginning of Wisdom is: Get wisdom! And with all your getting, get understanding
Proverbs 4:13-17 Become strong in discipline, do not let go; watch over her, for she is your life. Do not enter the path of the wrong, and do not walk in the way of evil-doers. Avoid it, do not pass by it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil. And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they have eaten the bread of the wrongdoing, and they drink the wine of violence.
Proverbs 5:23 He dies for lack of discipline, And in the greatness of his folly he goes astray.
Proverbs 6:6-8 Go to the ants, you lazy one! see her ways and be wise. Which, having no commander overseer or ruler, provides her supply in the summer gathers her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commands but a prating fool will fall.
Proverbs 10:26 As vinegar is to the teeth and smoke to the eyes. So is the lazy man to those who send him.
Proverbs 10:32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable. But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.
Proverbs 12:23-25 A clever man is concealing knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims folly. The hand of the hard worker rules, but the lazy is put to compulsory labor. Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression but a good word makes him glad.
Proverbs 13:3 He who watches over his mouth guards his being, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
Proverbs 13:18 Poverty and shame are for him who ignores discipline.
Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children. But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
Proverbs 15:1-2 A soft answer turns away wroth, but a harsh word stirs up displeasure. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge good, but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness
Proverbs 18:9 Also, he who is slack in his work is a brother of a master destroyer.
Proverbs 20:24 The steps of man are from God; What does a man know about his own way.
Take the Proverbs challenge pick the day of the month say it’s the 7th then read Proverbs 7 and so on and so forth. Gain wisdom, understanding and discipline. Thanks for reading have a blessed day
